LocalsVoted Terms of Service

Last updated: Oct 23, 2026

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Locals Voted LLC, a Washington limited liability company ("LocalsVoted", "we", "us"), for your use of localsvoted.com and everything on it (the "Service"). By using the Service, creating an account, voting, creating a board, claiming a business, or paying, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The sign-in screen tells you that continuing means you agree to them; when you sign in we keep the time and the version (the "Last updated" date) of the Terms and the Privacy Policy you accepted on your account, and your continued use is also your acceptance.

These Terms also include the Text Terms (Section 23), and they work together with our Privacy Policy, our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, our Cookies page and our bot page. If you use the Service for a business, you agree to these Terms for that business and confirm that you are allowed to do so.

The Service is offered in the United States and is intended for United States residents.

2. What LocalsVoted is

LocalsVoted hosts public "Best [topic] in [city]" boards for local businesses. Each board is for one city. County, state and country pages are summaries that add up the votes cast on the city boards; you cannot vote on them. Rank comes only from votes by signed-in people. No business can pay for rank, and paying for any feature never affects rank. A business is shown as "Claimed" or "Unclaimed".

Any person may add a business to a board, and we may create boards and listings from public information without the business asking. A business does not have to take part to be listed. Votes are the opinions of the people who cast them. They are not statements of fact by LocalsVoted, and a listing or a rank is not an endorsement, advice or a guarantee of quality. A listing does not mean that the business is connected to, sponsored by or endorsed by LocalsVoted, or that LocalsVoted is connected to it. A business owner can claim a listing, correct its details, or ask us to hide it (Section 7).

Business details come from open data, from each business's own website, from people who submit or correct them, and from our staff (see Section 7), and may be incomplete, wrong or out of date. Please do not rely on a rank, a listing, a map link or an offer for anything important, such as your health, safety, money or legal position. Check directly with the business first.

3. Eligibility and age

You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service. The Service is not for children under 13, and if we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13 we will close it. If you are between 13 and 18, you may use the Service only with a parent or guardian's involvement, and you may not make any payment without their consent. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms for you.

Some boards are marked as adult-oriented. To vote on, add a place to, or start an adult-oriented board you must confirm that you are 18 or older; we record the time and wording of that confirmation. Adult-oriented pages can be read without signing in, so do not open them if you are under 18 or if they are not lawful for you to view.

4. Your account and phone verification

You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code. You may hold one account per verified number. You are responsible for your account and for the information you provide, which must be accurate. Keep access to your number secure. Tell us promptly at [email protected] about any unauthorized use. A carrier can reassign a phone number to someone else; if you lose or give up a number, tell us, and we may ask you to verify again. You remain responsible for what happens on your account until you tell us. We send account emails only to an email address you have verified. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or that we reasonably believe are fraudulent.

5. How rankings and voting work

  • Rank is determined only by votes. No payment changes it.
  • You may cast one vote per board per calendar month. When you create a board, your vote goes to the place you rank first. If a place you add is still waiting to be checked (Section 6), your vote for it waits and counts only once the place is approved.
  • A vote is your own opinion. You may not manipulate voting: no fake or multiple accounts, no automated voting, no inducing votes through payment, and no other interference with the integrity of the results.
  • A business's owners, employees and relatives are members like anyone else and may vote, but only once per board per month and only as their own honest opinion. This means a business's owners and staff may vote on boards where their business is listed; their votes count like anyone else's. We may remove votes that look coordinated or fake, and we may disregard votes that we reasonably believe do not reflect an independent opinion.
  • Hidden or closed businesses are left out of rankings. If an owner hides a listing, or we reject a place that was added, the votes cast for it in the current month are returned to the voters. When we hide or close a listing ourselves, its votes are left out of the rankings while it is hidden or closed but are not necessarily returned.
  • We use automated checks, including a scrambled device-and-network key described in our Privacy Policy, to spot fake or coordinated voting. At present these checks only flag votes for our staff to look at; they do not change a vote on their own. We may review, adjust, return or remove votes, boards or accounts, and recompute results, with or without notice, to protect the integrity of the Service. Our decisions about votes, rankings and winners are final to the extent the law allows.
  • A business may not give, offer, or promise anything (a discount, a gift, a payment, or any other benefit) in return for votes, on or off the Service. A business that rewards votes may be delisted.
  • We do not promise any rank, win, visibility, traffic or sales.

6. Creating boards and adding places

  • Creating a board costs $1, charged at submission. A board is checked automatically and, if needed, by a reviewer. If a board is rejected, or ends up with no places, the $1 is refunded.
  • Adding a business to an existing board is free.
  • Some free-board coupons are given out. A coupon has no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, may be limited to certain places (at launch, to boards in Washington) and may expire or be withdrawn. We may void a coupon that is misused.
  • Content you submit (board topics, places, your ranking, and any text) must be accurate, lawful, and not misleading. Do not create duplicate, fake, or spam boards or listings. We may review, reject, edit, merge, or remove submissions.
  • If you add a place we cannot find in our data, you give us its name and city, and optionally its website, address and phone, and you confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge. We rely on that confirmation, we check what you give us (see Section 7), and we may reject or correct it. You must not add a business you do not know to exist, or give details you know are wrong.
  • A place that we cannot check right away is "pending". While it is pending it has no public page, no web address, and no place in any list, search result or feed, and no vote counts for it. Only you see it, marked "We are checking this place". If we cannot verify it within 30 days it expires, and we tell you in the Service (we mark it expired when our scheduled check runs or when you next look at your submissions, so it can show as waiting a short while past 30 days). An expired place keeps what you typed as described in the Privacy Policy. If we verify it, it appears with the position you chose, and your vote counts from then.
  • We do not allow boards or places that offer, advertise or facilitate prostitution, escort or other paid sexual services, human trafficking, or anything else unlawful (see Section 9). We refuse and remove them, and we may report them to the authorities.

7. Business listings, claims and business owners

Where business information comes from. We build each business listing from these sources and no others:

  • Open data from the Overture Maps Foundation (overturemaps.org), which combines open datasets from several contributors under their own open licences. We keep a copy and credit it on our Data sources page (localsvoted.com/about/data-sources). Details from this source can be out of date.
  • The business's own website, read by our identified program as described on our bot page (localsvoted.com/bot). We may turn this on later; when it runs it follows the rules on that page.
  • Information given to us by a person who adds the business or by its owner, or a correction sent to us.
  • Checks by our staff, for example from the business's website or a phone call to the business.

Where sources disagree, the owner's confirmed details come first, then details our staff have checked, then the business's website, then open data. We do not copy business details, photos or reviews from Google, Bing, Yelp or other map, search, review, social-media, delivery or directory services, and we do not use a browser, script or person to read those services in order to fill in our listings. Some older listings may still show a note that their details were first collected through Google Places; those details are being replaced. Where we link to Apple Maps or Google Maps, the link is built from the business name and address we hold.

Claims.

  • A business owner may claim a listing by a business-domain email, an email found on the business's own website, a phone match against the business's public number as we hold it, or manual review. On approval the listing is marked "Claimed", its name and location are locked, and we ask the owner to confirm the details. Details the owner confirms take priority over every other source.
  • You may claim a business only if you are its owner or are authorized to act for it. When you claim, you promise that this is true, that the information you give is accurate, and that the business agrees to these Terms. If two people claim the same business, we decide which claim to accept, we may ask for proof, and we may revoke a claim at any time; we are not responsible for that decision. Claiming does not give you any right to remove votes or to change a rank.
  • A claimed owner may correct details, add permitted content, and ask to hide (remove) the listing; a hidden listing can be unhidden later. Anyone may report a business as closed for review.
  • We do not use a user's phone number to contact a business, and we do not call or text a business's public phone number. A claim by phone only compares the number you signed in with to the business's public number. We contact a business only by email for claim invitations (each with an unsubscribe link), unless an owner provided a contact method themselves.

Corrections and removal. Anyone may ask us to correct or remove business details, or to stop reading a website, by writing to [email protected] or by using the correction form on any business page. We aim to answer within two business days, but we do not promise a time. We may correct or remove any listing or detail that we find is wrong or that we cannot verify, with or without a request. We are not required to remove accurate public information or votes, which are the opinions of the people who cast them. A claimed owner can change their own details themselves.

Owners are responsible for what they publish. If you are a business owner, you are responsible for everything you publish or have us publish for your business, including details, descriptions, photos, logos, highlights and offers, and for following the law that applies to your business, including laws on advertising, promotions, pricing, discounts and endorsements. You promise that your statements are true, that you have the right to use your name, logo and photos, and that you will not ask anyone to vote or review in exchange for a benefit, or to vote only if their opinion is positive.

Highlights. A claimed owner may add short highlights (for example "Family-owned" or languages spoken). Highlights are the owner's own statements. We do not check or endorse them, they are shown as "Provided by the business owner", and we may remove any highlight. Highlights never affect rank.

Locals offers. A claimed business may publish up to three Locals offers at a time. A Locals offer is the business's own offer, not an offer from LocalsVoted. It must be the same for everyone, it may not be given or promised in return for votes, and it never affects rank. We do not track whether an offer is used and we are not responsible for honoring it. Offers are public: you do not need to vote to see or save one, and you must be signed in to see an offer's code. A person may hold only one Locals offer from a business at a time, and offers cannot be combined. A person may choose a different offer from that business only after the offer they hold has expired, or if the business pauses or ends it. Removing a saved offer from a person's list does not make another offer available. We may pause or remove an offer, and we may delist a business that breaks these rules.

Business plan. The business plan gives a claimed business extra tools and analytics about its own listing (Section 10 has the price and renewal terms). It never affects rank or placement. We may add, change or retire features. If we end the business plan as a whole during a year you have paid for, other than because you broke these Terms, we will refund the unused part of that year.

Closed or hidden businesses and open data. We do not guarantee that any listing is accurate, complete, or current. Open map data in particular is compiled by others, can be wrong or stale, and may contain errors we have not found yet.

8. Your content and the license you grant

You keep ownership of content you submit (for example, a display name, photo, logo, or description). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license (with the right to let our service providers use it for us) to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt for display (for example, resize), and distribute that content to operate, secure and promote the Service, including in share images and winners pages. The license ends when you remove the content or delete your account, except that (a) it continues for a reasonable time while copies clear from our backups and caches, (b) it continues for content that other people have already shared or copied outside the Service, and (c) it continues for votes, boards and places you added, which stay without your name as described in the Privacy Policy. If you remove your profile photo or delete your account, we delete the photo from our storage and stop showing it (a photo that is still held for review when you delete your account is removed by our 30-day clean-up of held photos).

You represent that you have the rights to the content you submit and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break any law. Do not upload a logo or photo you do not have the right to use. Photos and logos you upload may be checked automatically and held for review before they are shown; a photo or logo held for review is not shown publicly unless and until it is approved, and a held photo that is not approved within 30 days is deleted. We may decline or remove content at our discretion, and we have no duty to host or keep any content.

Content on the Service is submitted by users, business owners and third parties. We are not the publisher or speaker of content provided by users, business owners or third parties, and we do not guarantee it is accurate or lawful. Boards and listings that we create ourselves from open data are marked "Started by LocalsVoted"; we correct or remove them on request as described in Section 7. We act on reports as described in Sections 7 and 14.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to: create fake or multiple accounts; manipulate votes or rankings; create fake, duplicate, or misleading boards or listings; impersonate others; post unlawful, infringing, harassing, hateful, threatening, or deceptive content; post other people's private information; offer, advertise or facilitate prostitution, escort or other paid sexual services or human trafficking, or post content that does so; attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours; interfere with, overload, or probe the Service or its security; or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

Automated access. You may not use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Service in a way that overloads it, avoids its limits or security, creates accounts or votes, or copies the Service in bulk to build a competing database. Search engines and AI services that identify themselves, follow our robots.txt, and stay under a reasonable request rate may fetch public pages, show short excerpts with a link back, and answer people's questions with a link to us, as our robots.txt allows. Automated access that does not pass login or other access controls is allowed if it follows these rules. Anything else needs our written permission.

10. Payments and fees

  • Fees: $1 to create a board, and the business plan for a claimed business. The business plan is $149 for each of the first 100 businesses that buy it (the founding price) and $249 for every business after that. Each payment covers one year. Prices are shown before you pay and are in US dollars.
  • Renewal: when you pay for the business plan by card, it is a yearly subscription that renews automatically at the end of each year at the regular price, which is $249 (a founding business renews at $249, not at the founding price), using the card you paid with, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your plan page (Manage billing); cancelling stops the next renewal, and the plan stays active until the end of the year you have paid for. We email the person who bought the plan 30 days and 7 days before each renewal, with the date and the amount, at the verified email address on their account (or, if that email is not verified, as a notice in the Service). We do not send these reminders if the buyer has no email address on the account, if the buyer no longer manages the page, or while a renewal payment is failing (Stripe sends its own payment emails then). A reminder is a courtesy: the renewal date and price are also shown on your plan page and before you pay, and the plan renews whether or not a reminder reaches you. If the price changes we will tell you before it takes effect, and in any case at least 30 days before the renewal date it first applies to; a change does not apply to a year you have already paid for. A plan paid by Zelle or check does not renew automatically: under the same conditions we send a reminder before it ends, and you may renew for one more year.
  • Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, we may retry the card. Plan features stay active for up to seven calendar days after the renewal date while we retry. This grace period does not extend the term you paid for, and if the payment still fails the plan ends.
  • Payments by check: an adult venue's plan, and an adult board's $1 fee, are paid by check (or another manual method we offer), not by card. We show an invoice with a reference to write on the check. An invoice expires 14 days after it is made if it is not paid. The plan or board starts only after our staff confirm the payment, which we aim to do within 2 business days of getting your payment details. Refunds of these payments are made through the bank, not the card network.
  • Payments by card are processed by Stripe; by paying, you authorize the charge. Prices do not include any sales or similar taxes that we are required to collect; where we are required to collect tax, we add it and show it before you pay, and you are responsible for any other applicable taxes.
  • Refunds: the $1 board fee is refunded if the board is rejected or left empty. The first purchase of a business plan is refunded in full if you ask within 14 days of paying. A renewal is refunded in full if you ask within 7 days of the charge. For a payment by check, "paying" and "the charge" mean the day we confirm the payment. After that, payments are not refunded in part: cancelling stops future renewals, and the plan runs to the end of the year you paid for. Refunds are handled by our staff on request and are not automatic. Write to [email protected] to ask for a refund or about any problem with a charge. If we approve a refund we aim to start it within 10 business days; your bank or card issuer may take longer to show it.
  • Paying never affects rank, placement, or the appearance of a business in results.
  • If you have a problem with a charge, please write to [email protected] first; we can usually fix it quickly. This does not limit any right you have to dispute a charge with your card issuer or under law. If a charge is disputed we may share the payment record with our payment processor to respond, and we may pause or close an account with a charge we reasonably believe is fraudulent.

11. Referrals and sharing

Sharing a board is free, and voting is free for everyone you invite. A share link may carry a referral code so that first votes it brings in are credited to you. Your private invites screen shows you the people you brought in (their public display name and photo, when they joined, and how many votes they have cast and boards they started), never which business anyone voted for. A public profile shows only a number. Referral credit has no cash value. Do not game referrals (for example, through fake accounts or automated visits); we may void referral credits we believe are gamed.

12. Winner artwork

If a board's business wins, it may download winner artwork (a badge and a window sticker with a QR code). A win reflects only the votes cast in that period. Artwork is issued only for a win with at least 50 votes in that period, and it shows the vote count and the month (or year) of the win; do not describe a win as more than that. You may use that artwork only to show the win it describes, for the period it describes, and you must not alter it to claim something that is not true.

13. Our intellectual property

The Service, including the LocalsVoted name, logo, text, design, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as allowed by these Terms. Business details from open data remain subject to the licences listed and linked on our Data sources page, and nothing in these Terms limits what those licences allow you to do with that open data from its original source. If a licence requires us to pass on a notice or condition (such as an attribution), it applies to you for that data. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you. You may not try to identify any person from analytics we show you, and you may not present analytics or a rank as a statement made by LocalsVoted.

14. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated copyright agent: Dishika Singh, Locals Voted LLC, 8120 Hardeson Rd #4136, Everett, WA 98203, phone (425) 312-3463, [email protected]. A notice must include: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the work you say is infringed; identification of the material and where it is on the Service; your contact details; a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner (17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3)). We respond to valid notices, remove or disable the material, tell the person who posted it, and accept counter-notices that meet the law's requirements. If you believe material was removed by mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. We will terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. A person who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages.

15. Third-party services and links

The Service relies on and links to third parties (for example, open data providers, Google for sign-in, reCAPTCHA, hosting and analytics, Stripe, email and text-message providers, Cloudflare, and print vendors) and may link to business websites, social pages, and to Apple Maps or Google Maps. We are not responsible for third-party services, data or content, and your use of them is governed by their own terms. A third party's name appearing on the Service does not mean it endorses LocalsVoted or you.

16. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that listings, votes, rankings, offers, highlights, open map data, user content, or other information are accurate, complete, lawful or current, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free. Rankings reflect votes cast and are not an endorsement or a measure of quality. Some listing details are checked by people and some by automated tools, including a software model. A listing that has been checked is not endorsed by us and is not guaranteed to be correct, and we may reverse any approval. Automatic answers on the Help page and automatic replies may be wrong and are not advice; if one differs from these Terms, these Terms control. Nothing on the Service is medical, legal, financial or safety advice; in an emergency call 911. We are not responsible for what any business, voter, owner or other user says or does, on or off the Service, or for any dealings you have with them.

17. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOCALSVOTED AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, DATA PROVIDERS, SERVICE PROVIDERS AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR $100.

Nothing in this Section limits our liability for a breach of our obligations under the Privacy Policy that is caused by our own failure to use reasonable security. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot be limited or waived by law, and nothing limits your non-waivable rights under consumer-protection or privacy laws, including the Washington Consumer Protection Act. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you. The limits in Sections 16 and 17 apply to every kind of claim, to the extent the law allows, and they are part of the price and basis of a Service that is free for most people.

18. Indemnification

If a third party brings a claim against LocalsVoted or its owners, operators, employees, data providers, service providers or suppliers because of content you submitted that is unlawful or infringes someone's rights, or because you materially broke these Terms or the law, you will pay the resulting damages, reasonable legal fees and costs. If you are a business owner, this also covers the details, highlights, offers, descriptions, photos, logos and claims you publish or make for your business, your promise that you are authorized to act for the business, and anything you give or promise in return for votes. We will tell you promptly and let you take reasonable part in the defense, and we will not settle in a way that admits fault for you without your consent. This does not apply to the extent the claim comes from our own acts, and it does not apply to a person who uses the Service only as a voter where the law does not allow it.

19. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may discontinue the Service or any feature; if we discontinue a paid feature we refund the unused part of the year you paid for. We may suspend or end your access, remove content, or close your account if you break these Terms, if we must for legal or security reasons, or to protect the Service or its users. If we close your account for a reason other than your breach, we will refund any unused part of a business plan you paid for. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including the content license as it continues after removal, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, payment obligations already due, and dispute resolution) survive.

20. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing anything, you agree to try to resolve a dispute with us informally by writing to [email protected] and allowing 30 days. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought only in the state courts located in Snohomish County, Washington, or the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, and you consent to their exclusive jurisdiction and venue. You may instead bring an individual claim in a small claims court in the county where you live, if it qualifies, or in any court where the law requires a claim to be brought. If you use the Service for a business, to the extent the law allows, you must bring any claim against us within one year after it arises.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with a new "Last updated" date. For material changes we will give notice through the Service, and by email to your verified email address, at least 30 days before they take effect, except that a change needed to follow the law, to protect the Service or its users, or to add a feature without taking away any right of yours can take effect sooner. A change does not apply to a year you have already paid for, or to a dispute that has already begun. If you do not agree to a change, stop using the Service and delete your account, and cancel any renewal. Your continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms, except that for a material change to a paid feature we will ask you to accept the new Terms before your next charge. If you have no verified email address, the notice in the Service is the only notice you receive, so please check it.

22. General

If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, that part is limited to the least extent needed and the rest stays in effect. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, or to an affiliate; you may not assign them without our consent. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of the internet, power, hosting, payment, telephone or data providers, labor disputes, natural disasters, public-health emergencies, war, cyberattacks and acts of government. You agree that we may give you notices, receipts, renewal reminders and records electronically, at your verified email address or in the Service, and that a click, tick or sign-in is your electronic signature; you can withdraw this agreement by closing your account (and cancelling any plan). The data providers, service providers and suppliers named or described in these Terms are intended third-party beneficiaries of Sections 13 to 18 and may enforce them against you. Apart from them and the people we release under these Terms, nobody else has rights under these Terms. The Service is run from the United States and is not meant for use elsewhere; if you use it from another country you are responsible for following local law. You confirm that you are not barred from receiving services under United States law. Headings are for convenience.

23. Text messaging terms

By signing in you agree to receive a one-time sign-in code by text. Sign-in codes are sent by our authentication provider, Google Firebase, only when you ask for one. If you check the box to receive text messages, you agree that Locals Voted LLC may send recurring marketing and promotional text messages to the mobile number you use to sign in, including through automated technology. Consent is not required to use or purchase from LocalsVoted. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Available for United States numbers only.

You can revoke your consent at any time, by any reasonable means: reply STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE or OPT OUT to any text we send you, or turn text notifications off under Account, Settings, Notifications. When you revoke, we stop sending you texts, we may send one message confirming it, and we keep a record of your consent and of your revocation (the date, a scrambled form of your number, the wording you agreed to, and where you agreed) so we can show that your choice was honored.

We may also send a short account-security text, to your own signed-in number only, when you ask to delete your account, when you undo that request, and when the account has been deleted, but only if you have turned on text messages or you check "Also text me about this request" when you ask. Otherwise we send those notices by email only. We email account notices only to an email address you have verified. These texts are not marketing; reply STOP to stop them (we also email the same notices to a verified address).

Texts are sent by Locals Voted LLC through a text-message service provider that delivers them for us. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes; text-message opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except the providers that send and record the messages for us. For help, reply HELP or write to [email protected]. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your number.
