LocalsVoted Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Last updated: Oct 14, 2026
This policy is for the Washington My Health My Data Act (chapter 19.373 RCW). It is separate from our general Privacy policy, which also applies. It is written by Locals Voted LLC, a Washington limited liability company, 8120 Hardeson Rd #4136, Everett, WA 98203. Questions: [email protected].
1. What this covers
"Consumer health data" is personal information that is linked or reasonably linkable to you and that identifies your past, present or future physical or mental health status, including reproductive or sexual health, gender-affirming care, use of medication or substances, and data that is inferred from other information.
LocalsVoted is a site for voting on local businesses of every kind. We do not ask for health information and we do not run any health service. But boards, places and searches can be about doctors, dentists, clinics, pharmacies, therapists, reproductive or sexual-health services, cannabis or vape shops and similar businesses, so some of what we collect when you use the Service could count as consumer health data. We treat it with extra care.
2. What we may collect, and why
- Votes you cast on boards about health topics, and the boards you start and the places you add to them, tied to your account. We use them only to run the Service: record your vote, rank businesses, keep voting fair and show you your own activity.
- Offers you save from a health-related business, tied to your account. We use them so you can use the offer and so that you hold only one offer per business.
- Pages you view and links you press on health-related pages. We keep only anonymous per-day counts for these pages (no visitor key, no source, no time of day, no account), so a business can see totals about its own page.
- Searches about health topics. We keep only a count and one generic label; the words you typed are not stored.
- Anything you choose to write to us in a report, correction request, claim message or contact message. Please do not include health information; if you do, we use it only to answer you.
We do not collect your precise location, we do not use a geofence (including within 2,000 feet of any facility that provides health care services), and we do not build profiles about your health or use health information for advertising.
3. Where it comes from
It comes from you, when you vote, add a place, start a board, save an offer, search or write to us, and from your browser when you view a page.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell consumer health data and we do not share it with any third party for their own purposes. We do not load Google Analytics, or send any other third party an event, for pages and searches about health topics.
Companies that handle data for us under contract (our processors) can see it only to provide their service to us: Google (Firebase sign-in, and Google Cloud hosting, database, storage and logs, which record the address of the pages requested and the internet address of the request), Cloudflare (domain and security filtering), Stripe (card payments; the description of a payment can name a board's topic), Resend (email), and our AI provider (when AI features are on), which can receive text of staff suggestions, Help questions and contact messages with email addresses, phone numbers, links and names removed; health topics are not excluded from this text. We may also disclose information when the law requires it. If we ever wanted to share consumer health data with anyone else, or to sell it, we would first ask for your separate written consent.
5. Consent
We collect and use the data above only as necessary to provide the Service that you ask for when you vote, add a place, start a board or save an offer, so we do not ask for a separate consent for that. You can stop at any time and ask us to delete what we hold.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- confirm whether we are collecting, sharing or selling your consumer health data, and see it, including a list of the third parties we share it with (none, apart from the processors in Section 4);
- stop collecting it or using it, by withdrawing your consent where we rely on it;
- delete it. We delete it from our active systems, ask the processors that still hold it to delete it too (except where the law requires them to keep it, for example payment records), and deleted data remains only in encrypted backups until they expire on their normal cycle.
To ask, email [email protected], or use "Download my data" and "Delete my account" under Account, then Settings, then Delete account. We may need to check that you are who you say you are. We answer within 45 days, and we tell you if we need up to 45 more days. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our answer; we answer an appeal within 45 days and explain our reasons. If you are still not satisfied, you may contact the Washington Attorney General at atg.wa.gov/file-complaint.
7. Keeping it safe
Only our staff and processors who need consumer health data to run the Service can reach it, our processors are bound by contract to protect it and use it only for us, and we use the security measures described in our general Privacy policy. No system is perfectly secure.
8. Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new date and, before collecting or sharing consumer health data in a new way, we will ask for your consent where the law requires it. Contact: [email protected], or Locals Voted LLC, 8120 Hardeson Rd #4136, Everett, WA 98203.
