How we check it is you
After you find your page, you sign in with your mobile number and prove you speak for the business. We use the strongest method that fits, in this order.
- Method 1
The business phone
If you signed in with the public number we list for the business, you claim at once. If you signed in with another number, we text a code to the business’s public phone and whoever holds that phone types it in. The claim stays on your account. - Method 2
An email with a link
For a landline, a shared line or no text: sent to an address at your business’s own website. Opening the link approves the claim. - Method 3
A code on your website
As a last resort for your website: you show a code, or your verified mobile number, on the website listed for the business, and we look for it. This takes 48 hours. - Method 4
A note to our team
A person reviews it by hand.
We never use your sign-in number to contact a business, and we never share it.
The rules
- Your business name and location are locked once the page is claimed. They come from public sources, so they cannot be edited to look like a different business.
- A claim does not change rank. Rank comes only from votes, and no business can pay for it.
- You can ask to hide your page at any time, and bring it back later.
- Rank cannot be boughtRank comes only from votes. The plan never changes the order of a board.
- Totals only, never whoYou see how many, never who viewed your page or who voted.
- One year at a time$149 founding price for the first 100 businesses, then $249 a year. It renews automatically each year.
- Cancel any timeIt renews automatically every year at $249 until you cancel, and you can cancel any time in Manage billing (the plan then runs to the end of the paid year). If the price changes we will tell you before it takes effect.
Questions about claiming
Is claiming really free?
Yes. Claiming costs nothing. The business plan is optional and never changes rank.
Can I change my business name or address?
No. Name and location come from public sources and are locked once a page is claimed.
What if the business phone cannot receive texts?
We have other ways to check: an email with a link to an address at your own website, a code on your website, or a note to our team that a person reviews by hand.
Does my sign-in number get shared?
Never. We do not use it to contact a business and we do not share it.
Can I hide my page?
Yes, at any time, and bring it back later.
Does claiming change my rank?
No. Rank comes only from votes.
